The 2013 vintage was fully ripe at harvest, and we let it hang just a bit longer to let the ’jammy-ness’ fully develop. The explosion of fruit and intensity of aroma yields to a complex melange of Black Cherry Cola, Dark Ripe Fruit, Figs, Sweet Pipe Tobacco, Cedar, and Chocolate…with a complexity that lingers on the palette through the incredibly long finish.
2014 Dos Lagos Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon
$125 per bottle
We thought that the 2012 was the best vintage Napa had ever seen, until the 2013 Cab was in. Once AGAIN we think that the 2014 is equally spectacular, and very similar to the 2012 vintage.
The wine has developed beautifully, retaining the outstanding aromatics we sensed on the crushpad. Silky smooth, rich tannins, velvet textures…typical of the previous Dos Lagos offerings, only more so.
Cloaked in Secrecy
$50 per bottle This well balanced 100% Chardonnay exhibits many classic Burgundian characteristics: well balanced, neutral Oak, bright and balanced acidity. 'Sur lies' aging in neutral barrels - a truly wonderful example of just how good Chardonnay can be!
What's the Secret? Cannot divulge all the details, but the Burgundian winemaker of a famous French family has made a wine that is simply too good! His Napa Chardonnay casts his family's White Burgundies in a bad light....so he cannot put his name on this effort!
Dos Lagos Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc
$40 per bottle
We love the crispness of many Sauvignon Blancs, particularly those with a strong fruit essence and a bit less acidity. Winemaker Kent Jarman is one of the proven rising stars in Napa. His wines have been featured on the Wine Enthusiast TOP 100 WINES OF 2016 (a Sauvignon Blanc, no less!) and we are thrilled to have him on this project with us.
Kent describes this wine as ‘fruit blossoms’, with mango and tangerine making up the aromatics. Ripe melon, citrus and tropical fruit make their entry. This is followed by a creamy textured mid-palate. A lingering finish of pear and honey…just perfect for a summer’s day by the pool!

Awards and spent a few days and some late nights meeting rap, R&B and kuduro superstars from across Africa: names like Banky W, Fally Ipupa, Daddy Owen, Cabo Snoop and Radio & Weasel, from Angola to Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo and beyond, all huge stars in their own countries, selling truckloads of records despite rampant piracy and a rickety music industry. These guys are kind of the Jay Zs and Snoops of Africa, basically.
