At an altitude of ~1,700 ft, Dos Lagos Vineyards sits well above the fog line allowing for sun filled morning warm-up and early cooling sea-breeze off of San Pablo Bay.
The soil structure is white volcanic ash, the volcanic soils stress the vines to produce small grapes. A lack of nutrients and high mineralogy yields a multilayered 'soft' tannin structure, extra depth of flavors and an outstanding finish to the wine.
At altitude, the rainfall is captured in the 2 Lakes on the property ensuring a purity not found at lower elevations.
Altitude, soil structure, sustainability, and constant breeze creates a complexity not found in many locations.
